HMI Programming & Design
Your operators interact with your process through the HMI. When screens are cluttered, inconsistent or hard to navigate, mistakes and downtime follow. Complete Controls Services, LLC (CCS) designs and programs human machine interface (HMI) applications that are clear, consistent and built to your standards. Founded in 2017 by technicians, CCS serves industrial and commercial customers from Blair, Nebraska, across the Midwest and the United States.
Our HMI Services
HMI Screen Design
We lay out screens around how your operators actually run the equipment: overview screens, equipment detail, trends, alarms and setpoint entry. Consistent colors, navigation and naming make the system easier to learn and safer to operate.
HMI Programming
We program HMI applications for new equipment and existing systems, tying screens to PLC tags, alarms and recipes. All are programmed to meet your specific application and required industry standards as applicable.
HMI Upgrades and Migrations
Older operator panels can fail without available replacements. We migrate legacy HMI applications to current hardware and software, carrying over the functions your team depends on and improving what didn't work well.
Alarm and Trend Configuration
Good alarming tells operators what needs attention. We configure alarms, first-out indication and trends so problems are easy to spot and diagnose.
PLC and SCADA Integration
HMI work is closely tied to PLC programming and plant-wide SCADA. We handle all three, and we are a Certified Ignition integrator.

What Makes a Good HMI
A good HMI shows operators what matters without making them hunt for it. We favor clean overview screens that highlight abnormal conditions, consistent placement of buttons and setpoints, and alarms with clear descriptions and first-out indication. Equipment status, permissives and interlocks should be visible at a glance so operators understand why something won't start. Trends should be one tap away. These principles make training easier, reduce operator error and speed up troubleshooting for maintenance.
Our HMI Project Process
We review your existing screens, PLC program and operator feedback, then propose a screen layout and navigation structure. Once approved, we build and test the application against the PLC logic, then commission it on site with your operators. You receive the final application files and documentation so the system remains yours to maintain and expand.
